  • Hass variety thrives between 5°C and 35°C.
  • Other varieties grow well in climates above 35°C.
  • Requires a sub-tropical environment, with a minimum of 15°C at night during the flowering season.
  • Regions like Rajasthan, with extreme heat (above 45°C) and water scarcity, are unsuitable.
  • A fogger system is recommended to control high temperatures.

Avocado’s first commercial harvest can be done after 3 years of plantation, while full commercial harvest is achieved after 5 years, when the trees reach their peak yield and produce maximum quality and quantity of fruits.

  • Yield: On average, 6 tonnes per acre per year in 2 years. As 1st year you get 2-2.5 tonnes and next year 10-12 tonnes
  • Price: Around Rs 200 per kg in the market.
  • Turnover per acre: Approx. 12 lakh.
  • Minimum estimated profit: 10 lakh per acre.

Harshil Godha not only cultivates avocado but also operates his own nursery, importing plants directly from Israel. He has supplied plants to farmers in 10 states and connected with 180 farmers nationwide.
